What is Redstor?

Controlling and securing data is a huge challenge for many organisations. With data growing exponentially – particularly in the Cloud – and the risk to that data increasing as well, organisations can no longer rely on old school tape backups and human interventions. Outdated methods mean that data loss can bring entire organisations to a standstill and it can take weeks to resume normal business operations.

Redstor is disrupting the industry and challenging everything you know about backup and recovery. It’s a complete data management solution that includes Backup, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Archiving meaning you can protect, manage, and recover your data from a single solution in minutes and with complete ease.

Backup

The simple truth is if you don’t backup your data, you’re putting your business at risk.

Redstor offers both desktop and laptop backup and Cloud data backup. You can choose which files and folders you want to backup – your Exchange email, Teams, and your PC’s Documents for example – then it works silently in the background. The backups are uploaded via the Cloud, are stored offsite in a secure datacentre and mirrored to a secondary datacentre for absolute security.

If you need to restore, Redstor allows you to choose where you want to Restore to – with Cloud backup you can choose to restore back to the Cloud or to a machine. Restoration is easy with Redstor’s pioneering InstantData technology. The restoration is prioritised by your actions, so if you need something it will be available instantly on-demand at the same time as everything else is restored in the background. This ensures you can continue to work with minimal interruption.

Disaster Recovery

To ensure efficient recovery in a disaster scenario, Redstor backs up server and individual machines’ data. This includes settings, configurations, files, and everything else all with minimal disruption.

Full System Recovery works in two stages: restoration of enough to boot your server, followed by everything else using InstantData. So once your system has booted, any files you need access to will be restored first, resulting in minimal interruption and downtime.

Archiving

Stagnant but important data takes up valuable disk space on your laptop or server. Archiving allows you to reduce storage amounts, which ultimately means you can store more data.

When you select which files you’d like to archive, they’re replaced with a stub file which looks and behaves in exactly the same way except it’s a fraction of the size. When you wish to access the archived file, you simply click on the stub file and it will be rehydrated on-demand, instantly.

In the long term, this will also save you money as you won’t have to increase capacity on your local machine or add additional disk array to your server. If you’ve already moved your servers to the Cloud, then your monthly costs will be dramatically reduced as you won’t have to pay for the additional cost of storing dormant data.

Redstor Benefits

Redstor is incredibly secure. All data is encrypted at all points of the process – at source, in transit, and at rest in Redstor’s datacentres. A secure encryption key is provided to every backup account. Your data is only accessible with your encryption key, so nobody (not even our staff) has access to your data.

As a single centralised data management solution, administrators no longer have to manage siloed data. They receive a unified view of all users’ accounts and can schedule automated reports.

With Redstor you have simplified billing and a predictable monthly cost, whilst all the time only paying for what you use: no nasty surprises and none of the upfront fees associated with on-premise backup solutions.
