Microsoft have recently announced that they are bringing in changes to simplify the way they charge for subscriptions and to address how customers prefer to purchase.
Microsoft's New Commerce Experience (NCE) will be available in early January 2022 and will include seat based offers for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Windows 365 and Power Platform.
Subscriptions are changing in the NCE and will, as from early January 2022, be available on three different term options: Monthly, Annually and Multi-Year with different pricing dependent on commitment.
For your information, your current pricing is based on an annual commitment which Microsoft now intend to enforce. Should you wish to transition to a monthly contract there will be a 20% premium.
Licences can be mixed and matched so you can have both annual commitment and monthly for the same company subscription. For licences on an annual commitment, you also have the option to pay monthly.
Add-ons will be listed as products in their own right and will need to be purchased separately from base offers.
Increasing / Decreasing seat counts and Plans
In the NCE, you can increase the number of licences or upgrade the plans you have at any time, however, you only have 72 hours from the time of purchase to cancel a subscription. After that period, no refunds will be granted and you will be required to pay until the end of the commitment term.
Both the current and New Commence Experience will run concurrently as of early January 2022, however all new subscriptions will be required to be procured on the New Commerce Experience from March 2022.
